JAN HANOUSEK, Professor at the Department of Finance and Accounting, FBE Mendelu
Professor Hanousek has published in the Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Economic Perspectives, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Corporate Finance, Review of International Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Comparative Economics, and other specialized journals. His research interests include applied econometrics, applied finance, and corporate finance, while his teaching includes various topics from statistics, econometrics, and applied economics. He has taught at the CERGE-EI, Charles University, University of Pennsylvania, and was a visiting professor and research fellow at various prestigious universities, including Princeton University and the University of Michigan. He has a Ph.D. in statistics from Charles University and an undergraduate degree in probability theory from Charles University.

IVA HASÍKOVÁ, Researcher, Ph.D. student at FBE Mendelu
Iva Hasíková completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at the Faculty of Business and Economics at Mendel University in Brno and is currently completing her doctoral degree. In her dissertation, she focuses on the effectiveness of VAT collection in Europe. Her researches in this regard are currently exploring the possibility of import of tax moral via FDI from countries with low corruption.

JOLANA STEJSKALOVÁ, Assistant and Researcher at the Department of Finance and Accounting, FBE Mendelu
Jolana Stejskalová is a junior researcher at FBE Mendelu and part of the Mendel FinAct team. She completed her Ph.D. study at Mendel university in 2022. During her studies, she won the best paper of 2019 in the category of young researchers at FBE Mendelu. Her research focuses on behavioural attention and corporate finance. She teaches a bachelor´s degree in finance or capital markets at Mendel university.

SVATOPLUK KAPOUNEK, Dean of FBE Mendelu
doc. Kapounek has published more than 50 papers in reviewed journals, including Computational Economics, Economic Modelling, International Review of Economics and Finance, Economic Systems, International Journal of Finance and Economics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Business Science and Technology, and the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, MENDELU. He served as the Vice-Rector for Research and the President of the Czech Economic Society. He worked as a research fellow at the National Bank of Slovakia and the Vilnius University. He has experience in leading numerous research projects (funded by the Czech Science
Foundation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Research Council of Lithuania, the Visegrad Fund, or the European Parliament). He had coordinated Jean Monnet Multilateral Research Group on CEE Banking sector stability after the reform of the European Financial Supervision.

Professor David has published in the Tobacco Control, Journal of Economics, Agricultural Economics, and other specialized journals. His expertise especially includes three main areas. Socioeconomic impacts of tax policy instruments: indicators of market deformation, cost-benefit calculations, identification of hidden market strategies, cost transfers and their solution. Tax incidence: calculation of tax burden distribution, tax incidence ex-post and ex-ante analysis, impacts of tax policy instruments. Internalization of externalities: impacts of environmental externalities taxation, calculation of corrective tax, evaluation of transportation tax policy instruments.

PETER ALBRECHT, Assistant and Researchert at the Department of Finance and Accounting, FBE Mendelu
Peter Albrecht focuses on applied econometrics, applied finance, behavioral finance, and monetary economics. His particular interest field is the propagation of shocks on markets, trading, and hedging strategies. He has published in the Finance Research Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Finance and Economics, and other specialized journals. One of his studies concerning fail-to-delivery volumes has been featured by several organizations, including Slovak Economic Association, Czech Economic Society, and Slovak Council for Budget Responsibility, and ended as the most-read econometric study in the world for July 2023 and June 2024. In September 2023, Peter and his colleagues were awarded the Award for Young Economists for 2023 by the Slovak Economic Association. In September 2024, Peter was awarded by the governor of the National Bank of Slovakia for his dissertation thesis. Besides his academic experiences, Peter works as a trader for Tatra Banka a.s.

Jarko Fidrmuc is a professor and chair of International & Digital Economics at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen, Germany, and research fellow at CESifo Munich, Institute of East European Studies in Regensburg, Germany, Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Austria, and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania. LUCIE FORMANOVÁ, Assistant and Researcher at the Department of Finance and Accounting, FBE Mendelu
Lucie Formanová is a junior researcher at FBE MENDELU and a member of the FinAct team. She completed her Ph.D. studies at Mendel University in 2018, where her dissertation focused on the impact of the election cycle on tax policy formulation in EU countries. Currently, her research is centered around tax literacy and audit topics. Dr. Formanová is also the founder of the Zaúčtuj To! competition for high school students. At Mendel University, Dr. Formanová is in charge of auditing course and teaches financial accounting and the tax system, conducting classes in both Czech and English.

Dr. Hanousek focus on behavioral finance, insider trading, information asymmetry, corporate finance, applied finance, and economics/econometrics, while his teaching includes various topics from financial markets, the role of institutions, investments, and behavioral finance. Dr. Hanousek has published in Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Empirical Finance. His research has been featured in several media outlets like Bloomberg, Money.com, and New York Times. He won First Place in the Young Economist Award by the Czech Economic Society in 2022 for his work in political insider trading. He has a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of South Florida, an M.A. in Applied Economics from CERGE-EI, and an undergraduate degree in statistics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.

Soňa Kukučková is an assistant professor at the Department of Finance and Accounting, Faculty of Business and Economics, Mendel University in Brno. She graduated in Finance at the Faculty of National Economy, University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia. She received Ph.D. in Economic policy from Masaryk University in Brno. Then for several years, she has worked for financial institutions at different positions and focused on finance, accounting and auditing. She currently teaches public finance, and her research topics include civic participation, public administration and policy, local government, and behavioural economics.

PETR SUCHÁNEK, Associate Professor at the Department of Business Economics, FBE Mendelu
Petr Suchánek primary deals with measuring a company's financial performance through a set of ratio indicators, which he analyzes utilizing multicriteria methods (TOPSIS). In the realm of financial performance, he also investigates customer satisfaction using questionnaires and assesses the Lifetime value of e-shop customers based on their actual data. More recently, his research has extended to exploring the implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, on student satisfaction with learning and on evaluating the financial performance of enterprises within the bioeconomy. He takes particular interest in employing structural equation modelling (SEM) for the development of statistical models.
